Super nice day for a walk! Got a little wet but not cold at all. Went in at the bridge off of Cheney-Plaza Road. This takes you right to the gate into Turnbull National Wildlife refuge. Going west you pass open ponds and wetland and and then come into an area that you are between rocks. It then opens back up to aspen groves and just as you're coming into the mile 257 marker a really big body of water. Cattails, ducks, geese and other water fowl abound. Just one other intrepid traveler was seen on the trail today. This stretch is only about 1 1/2 miles or so, to the 357 marker from the trailhead. When going west the mileage numbers go backwards as the numbering starts from the west end of the trail. The trail is straight and mostly flat but crushed gravel, it is not paved.
Enjoying the paths, trails, roads and by-ways of the Inland Northwest by foot. Sharing where I've been through pictures and text so you can explore them yourself walking, jogging, bicycling or under whatever foot powered means you enjoy.
