Went walkin out of the east trailhead parking lot, Canfield Gulch Loop trail. Still alot of snow in places, icy and muddy where its melting. Some nice dry stretches where the sun can get in. Quite a few folks out enjoying the sunshine. Dozer, the Silky Terrier, gave me a nice greeting as he and his mother trotted up the trail.
Enjoying the paths, trails, roads and by-ways of the Inland Northwest by foot. Sharing where I've been through pictures and text so you can explore them yourself walking, jogging, bicycling or under whatever foot powered means you enjoy.

Centennial Trail Sullivan to Barker Kayakers 3/24
It was a pretty day for walkin, even if I did get spritzed on a little. I saw the first buttercups of the spring, so its official. The marmots were whistling. People were out with their 4footed kids. Kayakers were out enjoying the rapids made by the spring run-off.

Tubbs Hill, Coeur d'alene fun in the Sun day
What a glorious day to be alive and out along Coeur d'alene lake, and the people and 4 legged people were out in force! Went out of the eastside parking lot for Tubbs hill and ran into Bower and his mom. They were out enjoying the sunshine and the still present snow. Got to play some frisbee with this 4 legged athlete. Continued on the trail along the edge of the lake and was was rewarded with some beautiful scenery. I had twisted my ankle earlier in the day so didn't go all the way around but drove into Coeur d'alene and parked to take in some more sights.

Columbia Plateau Trail Cheney Plaza
Still alot of snow on the path coming off of Cheney Plaza headed west. Slow going as its getting soft and melty. The ponds are still mostly frozen so not a lot of bird activity yet. A dog mom and her 2, Kalona and Kallie (please forgive me if the names aren't spelled right) were out enjoying the sunshine In bird watching news about 10 swans were in the flooded hay field near Marshall. Couldn't get close enough to get a good shot but got them flying away. Seagulls, ducks and other little water birds are enjoying the open water on this "used to be a hay field" pond.

Spokane Riverfront Park & spring chicks
Had to go to the feed store on my way to downtown Spokane to go walkin and thought you'd enjoy some pics of the spring chicks and ducklings. Riverfront Park was full of people enjoying the sunshine, finally! Bird and geese were also enjoying a dose of the shiny stuff.
