Malden Washington 3 months later

I have been wanting to go down to Malden, Washington, about 30 miles south of Spokane, and photograph the devastation. A fire raged through Malden on September 7, 2020. The Post Office, city hall and most of the houses were lost that day. I finally got the chance today and took a walk around what used to be a little town. The town was bustling with a huge amount of large trucks and equipment getting ready to clean up the mess that was left. Malden sits in the rolling farm land that makes up that area. My understanding is that a lot of folks that lived in Malden did not have insurance and may have a hard time rebuilding. There are a number of funds set up to help the victims through the neighboring town of Rosalia-Lions Club and 1st Interstate bank. I have also been told that you could look for "Gofundme" and Facebook fundraisers for Malden and Pine City.

Spokane falls in the fall
