Dishman Hills Natural Area Spokane Valley 1/30

YAY SUNSHINE! What a glorious day for a hike! I park in the Sprague parking lot and walk back in from there. There is still some snow, ice and also some standing water from it melting so you'll want to watch your footing. This area is very steep and easy to get turned around in . You'll want to make sure your comfortable with challenging terrain. People walk their dogs here a lot. Oh, the cabin shown is at the event center to the southeast off of Sprague.

Felts Field Airfield, south side of Spokane River.

I had never gone along the south side of the river here until the other day. I had seen people over there but just never gone to look. The path is accessed from the where Park comes to a dead end at the river. I learned the other day that at the end of this path is where Gonzaga stores its rowing skiffs. I had always wondered what the docks were for. It is open fields to the north of Felts Field. People walk their dogs here alot and there is a park on this end of park before you get to the dead end. Really fun watching the little planes go off from the little airstrip and some good river views from this side. The crows were HUGE, they were jumping off the fence to the runway and back. Not sure that would make the pilots taking off from Felts happy but they seemed to be having fun.

Rainy day through Gonzaga 1/24

Went from Mission Park down the Centennial Trail and through Gonzaga back up Mission. Not a long loop but always a pretty one through Gonzaga. Got pretty wet but it wasn't cold. There were quite a few folks out walkin in the rain.

Monday Spokane High Bridge Park & the Dog Park

I had never gone along the west side of the river from Vinegar Flats to High Bridge Park and then up Riverside back. The road through High Bridge Park was ICY! The Dog Park at the edge of High Bridge Park was full of dogs and their parents having a wonderful time but it was icy too. So watch your footing.

Sunday on Mt Spokane

We took a drive up to Mt Spokane yesterday to enjoy the sights and sounds of winter. It didn't disappoint! So many families, kids, snowboarders and skiers. The sun was out and it was beautiful! Wether you partake in any of the winter sports or not its worth a drive just to absorb the fun.

I Have a dream! Martin Luther King Celebration at East Central Community Center 1/15/2018

I didn't stay for the ribbon cutting but enjoyed the drums and dancing from the Community School group at the East Central Community Center. The celebration was for Martin Luther King day and the grand opening of the Martin Luther King Center at the community center. The crowd was invited to join in and dance to the wonderful tribal music provided by the drum corps. A joyful celebration!

SUNday trap shooting at the Spokane Gun Club 1/14/2018

I read an article about the trapshooting competition at the Spokane Gun Club and was interested to go see. I didn't know until today where it was. Really neat place, families, friendly competition even a distinguished gentleman on a scooter. Wanted to share the pictures of a new outdoor experience.
