This end of the Centennial Trail is pretty boring but this jaunt was a fun very visually stimulating one when I took it in September. I parked at Falls Park off S Spokane Street in Post Falls, hiked around the park and then out 4th street to Spokane St, south over the river on Spokane Street, into Q'emiln park to the end and then back. This route is about 1 1/4 miles(if you go to the west end of the park road) so about 2 1/2 miles round trip. If I had more time that day I would probably have continued south up Spokane street for a while to get some more mileage in. The sidewalk over the river on the west side of the road is great. The Q'emiln park has a great sandy beach along the river to walk or run on.
Enjoying the paths, trails, roads and by-ways of the Inland Northwest by foot. Sharing where I've been through pictures and text so you can explore them yourself walking, jogging, bicycling or under whatever foot powered means you enjoy.

Looking back day, 9/10/2017 Centennial Trail Argonne Maringo Trailhead
This is one of my favorite areas to start from to go east. Wonderful scenery and beaches for people and pets alike. This particular day there were so many people out enjoying the water with their dogs. The silly Candian Geese were trying to climb the big rocks. Walking, running, biking or even skateboarding is made that much more enjoyable when you have fun things to look at when plugging along! Super fun photo opps abounded. Enjoy!

Qualchan Ridge trail, 29th to 14th 10/26
GORGEOUS day for walking the ridge! Parked at Comstock Park on 29th and Post and then walked down to the trail access on 29th and High Drive. You can go either north or south on the trail from here and there are 2 levels of trails to choose from. The paths intersect at different times so you have alot of choices. I went North today on the upper trail and then went to the lower trail that runs along the edge. On coming back I went "off road, trail" and came back up one of the rock crevices that run up and down. The trails are used by bikers, walkers, runners and offer scenic views from all portions. Looking down into Vinegar Flats for much of this section. This ends at Polly Judd Park at the west end of 14th and you can park and access the trail from there. The paths are steep and sometimes narrow so not for the faint of heart. On quick tip, sometimes its hard to figure out where the access point is at 29th when your on the trail
but the power-tranformer station is on the flat just below where 29th intersects.

Centennial Trail mile post 11/Mirabeau to Sullivan 10/25
This section of the trail goes from the parking lot off of Pines/Mirabeau, milepost 11 and goes to just a little past the Sullivan underpass, milepost 9. Senic views of the river are all along as it follows the river from end to end. Gorgeous fall colors abound. Didn't see much wildlife but the people and thier 4 leggeds were out bikin, walkin and runnin. An intrepid soul was fishing, a couple of people were takin their Kayaks out and a nice lady was sitting on a bench just soaking the view in, Once the sun came out it warmed right up. We gotta enjoy this weather while we have it for sure!

Centennial Trail milepost 16-18 10/24
This section of the trail runs right along the river and Upriver Drive, west of Argonne. I like to park in the lot about 1/8 of a mile to the east of the parking lot at the 16 mile marker, alot less busy. This is a popular area, there is a beach that people swim at at the 16 mile marker. Always great scenery and activity on this section. Lots of folks and their 4 legged kids out enjoying the sunshine today.
