Riverside State Park the Turkey Vultures

The Western most trail running along the sheer cliffs accessed from W Trails Road is home to a flock of Turkey Vultures, known as a Wake, Committee, Volt or Venue. They are nesting up in the caves on one side of the trail. They are huge birds and really do circle above as you have seen in the movies. A number of them were not happy with me climbing up toward them and stood with their wings outstretched showing their displeasure.
