Had to go to the feed store on my way to downtown Spokane to go walkin and thought you'd enjoy some pics of the spring chicks and ducklings. Riverfront Park was full of people enjoying the sunshine, finally! Bird and geese were also enjoying a dose of the shiny stuff.
Enjoying the paths, trails, roads and by-ways of the Inland Northwest by foot. Sharing where I've been through pictures and text so you can explore them yourself walking, jogging, bicycling or under whatever foot powered means you enjoy.

Post Falls in Winter
Walked Falls Park in Post Falls, Idaho today and then through town and over the bridge over the Spokane River. There were some people and their 4 legged kids out and about. A whole bunch of ducks were climbing the hill from the river to get to a top plateau where they had found something to eat. Funny things looked like a duck parade. The snow was pretty deep and I got wet up to my knees but it wasn't as cold as its been so it was a nice jaunt.

GONZAGA SNOW DAY!
Had a really fun walk along the Centennial Trail and across the Gonzaga campus today. Some brave Gonzaga students were taking a break from book learnin and studying some aerodynamics goin down the hill toward the pond. Bing and the Bulldog got in on the snow fun as well. A Blue Heron was along the shore near the Don Kardong bridge. For the Gonzaga students if the Spokesman publishes on of these it will be in the Thursday Outdoors section at the back of the Sports. I'll also update this post if they do. #gonzagaexists

Centennial Trail 1/29/2019
Walked the Centennial Trail off the Maringo Trail head on the 29th. Kind of quiet this time of year. Saw some Canadian Geese and a man fishing in the river. Sure has been a mild winter!

Centennial Trail at Fort George Wright Drive
This section of the trail runs from Fort George Wright Dr just below Spokane Falls College and ends up at the Military Cemetery if you go all the way. There is a dirt path that runs along the edge of the river and a paved path that runs up along the ridge. The path that runs along the river comes to an abandoned house that all that's left is the stones and fireplace. It was really neat to see the young buck deer practicing their fighting skills in the forest next to the road.

Turnbull Wildlife refuge in winter 1/2019
Spent a couple of days in Turnbull in the last couple of weeks and had the pleasure of running into a Momma moose and her baby. Always fun to see! Not much bird activity as the water is mostly frozen.

Downtown Spokane, Gonzaga, centennial trail
Went walking through downtown Spokane yesterday to enjoy some of the holiday sights and then back around along the edge of Gonzaga on the Centennial trail. Lotso' people out taking it all in. Some neat new ducks on the river and even a guy fishing.
